Download Rainmeter 2.5 1827 Release Candidate One

After a long series of betas that started last November, the first release candidate of Rainmeter version 2.5 has now appeared. This program can display all kinds of information on the desktop in real time, such as free hard disk space, network activity and whether there is new email. Functional applets can also be used to, for example, make notes or send tweets. Version 2.5 can handle older themes and skins, so the new version can be installed without any worries. The following change has been made in this release candidate:

• Illustro: The RSS/Atom reader skin has been removed from the default illustro skins and layout on a new installation of Rainmeter. This is due to the pending end of the “Google Reader” service from Google on July 1st. Existing Rainmeter installations will not be effected.
