Another new beta release of version 2.3 of Rainmeter has been released. This program can display all kinds of useful and less useful information on the desktop in real time, such as free hard drive space, network activity and whether there is new email. Functional applets can also be used to, for example, make notes or send tweets. New in version 2.3 is the framework with which the plugins are created. This includes improved performance and new functionality, such as dynamic variables. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

• New Rainmeter.data file to support future improvements to how default plugin values ​​and other internal Rainmeter information is managed.
• Internal system tray notifications to welcome new users to Rainmeter and provide notifications of new available versions.

Changed:

• Installer: Changed the path input to be directly editable on portable installs.
