Apple released a new version of its media player Quicktime on Thursday and it didn’t take long before a new version of Quicktime Alternative appeared as well. Quicktime Alternative makes it possible to play Quicktime files without installing any Apple software. It installs the latest version of the Quicktime codecs and plugins for the Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox, Mozilla, and Netscape web browsers. In addition, you can also choose to install the media player Media Player Classic. The changelog for this release looks like this:
