Version 4.5.2 of qBittorrent has been released. This open source torrent client has versions for Windows, Linux, macOS and FreeBSD. The program is with Qt developed and based on libtorrent (raster bar) and Boost. The program is the brainchild of Frenchman Christophe Dumez, who has been working on it since early 2006. Today it is maintained by the community. Various downloads are available. For example, you can choose libtorrent 1.2 or 2.0, and whether the user interface uses Qt5 or Qt6. Bug fix:

  • Don’t unexpectedly activate queued torrents when prefetching metadata for added magnets
  • Update the cached torrent state once recheck is started
  • Be more likely to allow the system to use power saving modes

WebUI:

  • Migrate away from unsafe function
  • Blacklist bad ciphers for TLS in the server
  • Allow only TLS 1.2+ in the server
  • Allow to set read-only directory as torrent location
  • Reject requests that contain backslash in path

rss:

  • Prevent RSS folder from being moved into itself

Windows:

  • NSIS: Update Turkish, Uzbek translation

Note:

  • macOS builds are self-signed now. It should help with macOS permissions dialogs
