Download Python 3.0.1
The developers of Python have released a new stable release in the form of version 3.0.1. The new version is from this page available for download on many platforms. Python is an object-oriented programming language that can be used to develop simple to complex platform-independent applications. No new features have been added in this version; however, many bugs have been squashed that appear to occur in the greatly updated version 3.0; that version has now been taken offline. The full release notes are available here listed, and below are the developers’ notes posted:
This is the first bugfix release of Python 3.0. Python 3.0 is now in bugfix-only mode; no new features are being added. Dozens of bugs that were reported since the release of 3.0 final have been fixed.
Python 3.0 (aka “Python 3000” or “Py3k”) is a new version of the language that is incompatible with the 2.x line of releases. The language is mostly the same, but many details, especially how built-in objects like dictionaries and strings work, have changed considerably, and a lot of deprecated features have finally been removed. Also, the standard library has been reorganized in a few prominent places.
