Microsoft has released version 7.4.2 of PowerShell. PowerShell is an object-oriented shell and scripting language for task automation, consisting of a command-line shell, a scripting language, and a configuration management framework. The software has been around since 2006 and has been a standard part of Windows since version 2.0. Since the end of 2016 it has been open source and also available for Linux and macOS.
