Download PowerArchiver 2012 13.00 RC 1

ConeXware has now released PowerArchiver 2012’s first release candidate after three beta releases. This archiver can handle common archive types, such as zip, 7z, cab, lha tar, gzip, bzip2, rar, arj, arc and ace. In addition, it can read CD and DVD images such as iso, bin, img and nrg. PowerArchiver is available in a standard, a professional and a toolbox edition, with prices ranging from 20 to 45 euros.

The standard version gives you a comprehensive archiving program. Professional adds, among other things, a backup function, an Outlook plug-in and the ability to create ISO files. Finally, the Toolbox edition comes with a one-year license for BitDefender Internet Security, can burn optical discs, can create virtual disk drives, and is an sftp client. New in version 2012 is, among other things, the option to indicate file format, size or compression ratio with colors. Furthermore, improvements have been made in the use of passwords and the temp folder can be safely emptied. Since beta 3, the following changes and improvements have been made:

Changes from Beta 3 to RC1:

• Improved GZ support – Improved GZIP support.
• Improved RAR support – Improved RAR support (deleting files from archive).
• Improved FTP SSL/TLS support – Improved support for explicit FTP/SSL, when there is no separate data channel for encrypted files.
• Improved Archive Converter – Now keeps encryption when converted encrypted archives, such as from ZIP to 7-zip.
• Translation Improvements – German and other translations have been updated.
• Various fixes and improvements (over 10)! – Based on your feedback, PA Team worked hard to push RC1 out of the door.
