Conexware today released the fifth and the latest beta release of Powerarchiver 11.0. This program can handle the most common archive types such as zip, 7z, cab, lha tar, gzip, bzip2, rar, arj, arc and ace. In addition, it can also read CD or DVD images, including iso, bin, img and nrg. The first thing you notice about Powerarchiver 2009 is that there are now two different versions available: a standard and a professional edition. The first contains everything we’ve come to expect from the old Powerarchiver, while the other can also burn CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray discs, create ISO files and also mount them as a virtual drive. Finally, this variant can also be used as an ftp client. In this fifth beta, the startup time has been further reduced, files can now also be added via copy&paste and of course the necessary bugs have been fixed:

• Significantly improved startup speed when explorer view is on, as well as opening of folder windows.
• Copy and Paste implemented in some parts of interface – explorer view when browsing hard disk, preview (text).
• Added Drag and Drop support to Burner.
