Download PostgreSQL 8.3 RC2
Postgresql is an open source relational database management system that can be run on various operating systems. Postgresql’s 8.3 series introduces a number of new features, including sql/xml support, refreshable cursors, and sspi on the Windows platform. In addition, of course, several performance improvements have been made, such as keeping frequently used pages in the cache on large sequential scans and reducing the overhead of per-field and per-row storage. For an overview of the improvements compared to the 8.2 series, we refer you to this page. The developers have the second release candidate of Postgresql 8.3 as follows announced on the mailing list:
PostgreSQL 8.3 RC2 is now available
The community testing of RC1 has yielded positive results. We avoided several serious bugs and are now releasing 8.3 RC2. We need the entire community to continue testing to help us get to the final release. Please report your bugs before the end of the month!
