TransGaming is known for the application Cedega, a proprietary implementation of Microsoft’s Win32 Application Programming Interfaces (API) for the Linux platform, which makes it possible to play Windows games on various Linux distributions. Point2Play is a handy extension for Cedega that makes it easier to adjust settings and install games. In addition, you can easily use various services at TransGaming, such as technical support and the games database. Version 2.0 has recently been released with the following announcement:
Point2Play 2.0 is here! You asked for it, you voted on the early designs, and now we are thrilled to unveil the anxiously awaited Point2Play 2.0! With a slick new look and feel, TransGamers will now enjoy a new set up wizard for easier configuration of Cedega and your favorite games. Point2Play 2.0 offers quick navigation to TransGamer essentials such as voting, technical support and the TransGaming games database. Another key feature of this amazing new front end GUI is the built-in backwards compatibility with preinstalled games and previous Cedega versions.
New in this release
Some of the features included in this new and improved version of Point2Play 2.0 include:
- Completely redesigned user interface
- Use of a new Configuration Manager to manage your individual game configurations
- Improved update method, integrating the MozControl, MS Core Fonts, Cedega, and notification of new versions of Point2Play
- Setup Wizard which simplifies the initial setup of the Cedega environment
- Direct access to the TransGamer Vote, and Games Database web pages.
