Anonymous: 30372 alerted us to version 2.3.1 of phpMyAdmin with the following changes

Some improvements:

  • configurable auto-selection in textarea

  • a new logo
  • in db-view, new choice: REPAIR

  • faster automatic JOINS in query by example
  • new language: malay

Some fixes:

  • language files corruptions
  • select generated IS ‘NULL’ instead of IS NULL
  • parser: uninitialized string offset
  • undefined variable when reporting a MySQL error
  • InnoDB and undefined index
  • sql validator and checking of class
  • parser and Zend accelerator
  • could not match a float field when retrieving a row

[break] It turns out that there are some issues are between PHP 4.2.3 and phpMyAdmin. These have already been fixed:[/break] This was a problem with mbstring that has been fixed in CVS. The workaround is not to use –enable-mbstr-enc-trans when configuring PHP. (You won’t miss it, because the chances are that you don’t even know what it does 🙂
