Download PeaZip 5.5.2

Version 5.5.2 of PeaZip has been released. This archiving program is made available under an open source license and downloads are available for Windows and Linux. The program aims to distinguish itself from the competition by specializing in safety. Encrypting data is therefore one of the main functions of the proprietary system pea format. PeaZip can create 7z, bz2, gz, paq/lpaq, pea, quad, tar, upx and zip files, and extract various file formats including ace, arj, cab, deb, iso, lha , rar and rpm. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

backend

• (Windows) Updated to 7z 9.35 beta
  • LZMA2 is the new default algorithms for .7z format
  • defaults updated accordingly new reference settings for 7z
  • new 7z version drops support for Windows 9.x, which remains supported by PeaZip 5.5.1 and previous

File manager

• (Windows) Improved on demand scanning integration, up to 8 concurrent antivirus / antimalware, both in-archive (compressed files) and in filesystem
• Added support for Avast Pro / Internet Security, ClamWin, Comodo Cleaning Essentials, ESET NOD32 / Smart Security

Extraction and archiving

• Added hint overlays on extraction and archiving screens, overlays are replaced by standard popup hints when clicked, and when some input files are already selected
