Spread the love

Yesterday version 1.10 of PeaZip was released. PeaZip is an open source archiving program that tries to differentiate itself from the competition by specializing in security. Encrypting data is therefore the spearhead of our own pea format. The program can create 7z, bz2, gz, paq/lpaq, pea, quad, tar, upx and zip files and extract files from many more formats including ace, arj, cab, deb , iso, lha, rar and rpm. Version 1.10 has three important changes. First, the program is now compiled with version 0.9.24 of Lazarus, which brings improvements especially for Linux users. In addition, the 7z frontend has been updated to the latest stable version of 7-Zip, 4.57. The third and final major change in this release is drag and drop support. The full changelog looks like this:

Changes:

  • recompiled with Lazarus 0.9.24
  • fixed GTK2 visualization bug showing on some Linux distributions
  • allowed “create new folder” during output path selection in Windows
  • various optimizations (FreePascal version is updated)
  • 7z frontend updated from 4.56 beta to 4.57 stable (Windows)
  • drag and drop:
    • from system to main panel
    • from system to archive creation interface
    • from system to archive browsing interface:
      • modify archive if allowed for the archive type (add files and folders)
      • alternatively open as new archive
  • various fixes, improvements and code cleanup
