PassMark Software released version 3.1 build 1004 of WirelessMon on Wednesday. With this program, the status of the wireless network card and of the access points within its range can be monitored. For example, it can be checked whether the network is configured correctly, whether all components are working properly, whether the access points are secured and what the throughput speeds of the network are. If directional antennas are used, the program can help locate an antenna, as well as help detect interference and other problems. The following two changes have been made in this release:

Changes in version 3.1 build 1004:

• Changed connected node log to include SSID, MAC address and channel information to help track when a network card changes access points (roams) during the logging
• Fixed a crash in Vista/Win7 with long SSID names
