Download Paint.NET 3.20 alpha 2
Yesterday the second alpha releases of version 3.20 of Paint.NET came out. This photo editing program owes its name to the fact that it is developed in C#, and version 2.0 of the .NET Framework is therefore required to run the program. In terms of functionality, Paint.NET is somewhere between the Paint included with Windows and expensive commercial programs like Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop. Not bad for a program that is offered for free. Upgrading to this version can be done from within the program itself (provided ‘Also check for beta releases’ is enabled), or a 1.37 megabyte web installer can be used. this page are downloaded. Below are all the changes made since the first alpha:
Changed:
- Tolerance slider control is now 25% wider as per request on the forum
- Improved the Magic Wand cursor
- Improved the Paint Bucket cursor
Fixed:
- Paint.NET would crash if you clicked on the “start cap” or “end cap” buttons for the Line/Curve tool
- Using Sepia would produce a result identical to Black & White, and would also mess up the undo history
- OnSetRenderInfo() was being called twice for effects that use the new property system
- Soften Portrait allows “0” for the Softness value again
- Tweaked some of the slider controls in some of the revamped effects
- Compatibility with several plugins
