Download Paint.NET 3.08 beta
Yesterday, a new beta release of Paint.NET was released with version number 3.08. This photo editing program started as a study project at the University of Washington State in collaboration with Microsoft and is being developed in C#, which means that the .NET Framework is required to run the program. Upgrading to this version can be done from within the program itself, or a one and a half megabyte web installer can be installed this page are downloaded. Version 3.08 is a so-called service release and contains only bug fixes:
Fixed:
- Pasting an image from Office 2003 applications now works (eg Excel 2003 graphs).
- Some dialogs were not indicating which command button was the default. These buttons now have a highlight to indicate which one will be activated if the user presses Enter or Space.
- Some minor keyboard navigation issues with task dialogs
- Performance issue with the File->Acquire submenu taking a long time to appear
- Window activation issue when the Print wizard was finished / closed
- Crash when there was 1 image open and the user pressed Ctrl+Q and then Ctrl+W
- Minor performance issue if the user had 1 modified image open and then canceled the “Save changes?” dialog
- Misbehaving filetype factory implementations (plugins) will no longer cause a crash
