Download Paint.NET 2.70 beta 1

The first beta release of Paint.NET version 2.70 was announced yesterday in the Paint.NET forum. This program is an open source photo editing program that is a cross between the MS Paint included with Windows and a professional package such as Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro. It only works under Windows 2000, XP and 2003 Server (both 32 and 64 bit versions) and requires version 2.0 of the .NET Framework to work. The new version can also be downloaded within version 2.64 by using the built-in update function. (File -> Updates -> Check Now …) The tightened system requirements from the changelog also refer to the minimum service pack that must be installed and not to the version of Windows itself.
