Download Paint.NET 2.5 RC 1
After five beta releases, today is the first release candidate of Paint.NET 2.5. This program is a cross between the MS Paint that comes with Windows and a more powerful photo editing program, such as Adobe Photoshop. It only works under Windows 2000, XP and 2003 Server and is developed in C#, which requires that .NET FrameWork version 1.1 installed. If you already have a version from the 2.5 series installed, then updating from the help menu is also possible (Help -> Updates -> Check Now). Since this is a release candidate, the changelog doesn’t show any major changes:
Changes made in Paint.NET 2.5 Release Candidate 1:

- Fixed Auto-Levels incorrect white balance computation
- Fixed the Save As dialog not showing filenames
- Fixed the updater not offering stable releases if the user opts-in to beta notification
- Fixed data corruption bug with interaction between the two Move tools and undo
- Fixed many various input, localization, and crash bugs
- Help documentation is more complete, but NOT finished (RC status is for the code)
