Download Oracle Java 7 Update 75 / 76 & 8 Update 31

Oracle has released updates for versions 7.0 and 8.0 of both the Java Standard Edition development kit and runtime environment. For version 8.0 it’s easy, update 31 is available for that. With version 7.0, a CPU or PSU version must be chosen. However, this has nothing to do with the hardware in the PC, but stands for Critical Patch Updates and Patch Set Updates. The first, which Oracle says is recommended for most users, only contains improvements for security vulnerabilities and serious bugs, while the second also contains fixes for less serious bugs.

Oracle has released Java SE 8 Update 31 and Java SE 7 Update 75 and 76. Developers can download the latest Java SE JDK and JRE at the Oracle Technology Network.

Java SE 8 Update 31

Java SE 7 Update 75/76
These releases include important security fixes. Oracle strongly recommends that all Java SE 7 users upgrade to one of these releases.

What is the difference between a Java CPU (7u75) and PSU (7u76) release?
Java SE Critical Patch Updates (CPU) contain fixes to security vulnerabilities and critical bug fixes. Oracle strongly recommends that all Java SE users upgrade to the latest CPU releases as they are made available. Most user should choose this release.

Java SE Patch Set Updates (PSU) contain all of the security fixes in the CPUs released up to that version, as well as additional non-critical fixes. Java PSU releases should only be used if you are being impacted by one of the additional bugs fixed in that version.
