Download Opera 12.00 Build 1417 Beta

Opera has released a new beta release of version 12 of its web browser of the same name. Opera has browsers for all major computing platforms and for a variety of mobile operating systems. The browser offers tabs, can be controlled with mouse gestures, has an embedded download manager and offers protection against phishing and malware. Not only can you surf with Opera, but you can also send e-mails; there is a built-in bittorrent client and chat via irc. The most important improvements that will be implemented in version 12 are listed in detail below.

New Opera 12 Snapshot

Here’s yet another Opera 12 snapshot with a number of fixes, including several common crashes. It contains Out Of Process Plugin fixes, Hardware Acceleration fixes and Skin fixes.

For Hardware Acceleration fans we have font bugs fixed and new renderer preference which the user can set to 1 to prefer the DirectX back-end, or 0 to chose OpenGL. Make sure to turn on Hardware Acceleration in opera:config, to check this out (Hardware Acceleration is turned off by default in Opera 12, and the new preference has no effect).
