OpenHAB is home automation software that allows components to be read and controlled. This includes light switches, various sensors, LED lamps, security equipment and numerous other home automation hardware. It can be done via so-called bindings talk via Z-Wave, Nest and Zigbee, or control products from Ikea Trådfri, Xiaomi Smart Home and Philips Hue, among other things. openHAB 3.4 is fully backward compatible to openHAB 3.3 setups – there are only a few exceptions in certain bindings where manual action is required to adapt an existing setup, so please carefully check the section on breaking changes.
