Download OpenELEC 3.0 RC5
The fifth release candidate of version 3.0 of the Open Embedded Linux Entertainment Center has been released. This Linux distribution is based on XBMC Media Center and can turn a computer into a full-fledged HTPC. OpenELEC is easy to install, maintain and use, as well as being small and lightning fast. In addition to the default download there are special versions for AMD’s Fusion and Nvidia’s ION platform, Apple TV, Xtreamer Ultra and Raspberry Pi. This release of OpenELEC is based on version 12 of XBMC and is further shipped with the following release notes:
OpenELEC 3.0 RC5 released
The OpenELEC team is proud to release the 5th Release Candidate of OpenELEC 3.0! Internally this is known by the less-catchy name OpenELEC 2.99.5 🙂
This Release Candidate fixes some issues found in our RC3 release as well it includes a lot of bugfixes to XBMC Frodo. This will be one of the last release candidates before OpenELEC 3.0 final, so please test and report issues.
With the last Release Candidates we got many requests for a Changelog. The most important changes from last Release Candidate you find above and the most import changes from our last final version you will find on bottom of this announcenment. For a more detailed changelog check github.
Together with our new partner Arctic we developed a own build to use on any Arctic MC001 (EU Model, US Model) devices (all, including any barebones). From now on we provide special builds for these devices. For more informations see: “Arctic announces passive cooled Systems with OpenELEC installed“
