Open Shell is a program that allows you to customize the appearance of Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer, the start button, and the start menu in Windows 7, 8, and 10. In Windows 8 or later, it can also add a classic start button and start menu. However, in November 2017, the developer of Classic Shell indicated to stop with further developments and the source code has ended up as open source on GitHub, where it is now known as Open Shell. Version 4.4.152 released, a version that is offered as a development version. The changelog for that release looks like this:
