A much-discussed aspect of Windows 10 is the amount of information sent to Microsoft. This is often useful, because many matters can be handled better that way. But not everything is equally useful, so there are certainly concerns about privacy. Fortunately, many of these ‘phone home’ options can be turned off, although they are not all that easy to find.

O&O Software, known for its defragmentation program, among other things, has made a free tool available that allows many of these options to be easily turned on or off. In addition, it offers the option to create a system restore point beforehand. ShutUp10 is only 135kB in size and does not need to be installed to do its job. In version 1.2.1349 the following changes and improvements have been made:

• New settings for Windows Defender and Microsoft SpyNet
• Importing settings now possible over a command line
• Short instructions expanded
• Applications is now a single executable file (was previously a ZIP directory)
