Symantec has developed a new tool to remove these types of infections. Norton Power Eraser should be used as a last resort, according to Symantec, as it aggressively attacks rogue software and can accidentally quarantine a legitimate program. Norton Power Eraser is still in beta stage and version 1.0.0.45 was released a few days ago. This version shipped without a changelog, so we can’t tell you what has changed.
