Download NewsBin Pro 6.40 Build 1915 Beta 2

The second beta release of version number 6.40 of NewsBin Pro has become available. With this program files – such as photos, movies and programs – can be retrieved from usenet. New in version 6.40 is, among other things, that nzb files placed in a specific folder are automatically picked up. Furthermore, improvements have been made to the autopar function. The changelog for the beta 2 can be found below.

Version 6.40 New Features and Changes Summary since 6.3x

• New NZB Watch Folder feature. You can create a folder for sending NZB files for processing and specify different download and unrar pathsto apply to the contents of the NZBs in each watch folder if you like.
• AutoPAR tweaks so it will work better with a wider variety of RAR set posting styles.
• AutoPAR state data is all stored in memory now. AutoPAR2.db3 only saves data between runs now. This increases reliability by reducing the chance of corrupting the database file and provides some performance optimizations.
• Performing an empty search in Internet Search is now a wildcard search. Returns the last 2000 items added to the Search database.
• New “Performance” section in the Options menu that allows you to easily tweak options to work best on high end machines or low end machines.

Changes in version 6.40 Beta 2 Build 1915:

• Display: New performance tab in options for selecting low end/high end machine
• Display: Fixed issue with DB that holds downloaded files getting wiped with each restart
• Display: Exposed Reduce repair/unrar priority in the perf tab.
• The option to reduce number of threads for repair isn’t hooked up.
• Display: Unregistered MOTD/Splash/Countdown fix.
• Fixed potential crash on NB2 rename.
• Display: Can now open multiple search tabs. Look under the View menu for “New Search Tab”.
• Autopar: If unrar is disabled, and files become perfect, remove them from the download list [AUTORAR]RemovePerfect=0/1 – can be overridden. Default is 1.
• Autopar: Made sure it deletes “.s01+” rar files when processing is complete.
• Autopar: When QPMS repair clears bad files, it might prevent QPMS cleanup. – Only happens when QPMS files are repaired.
• Display: Fixed issue when changing fonts, the Logging and Connections tabs weren’t getting updated.
• Display: Now clears Search results when switching between Internet and Local searching.
• Fixed issue with column sorting in post or search list
• Fixed issue with Download to New Folder
• Display: Fixed issue where thumbnails were displaying upside down
• Display: Fixed issue where Groups were not shown for files inside rar sets
• Autopar: Fixed issue where download is paused during repair/unrar
• Display: Now warns if the user tries to add a watch named for a GOG.
• Download: Fill mode is more selective now. It only kicks in “per chunk”.
• Spam Filter: Fixed bug in the new spam filter mode option. It was setting and showing the wrong option.
• Spam Filter: When par unpausing is disabled, password protected rar files inside rar files were not getting detected.
• Remote: Fix parameter check in auth that had the wrong count. Caused an internal crash
• Remote: Fix children details. Children was getting called instead of details.
• Download: Can now reduce connections dynamically without having to restart Newsbin.
• Download: Reduce thread priority in download threads to “normal”.
