Download NewsBin Pro 6.31 build 1853 RC 4

Spread the love

DJI Interprises has released the fourth release candidate of NewsBin Pro version 6.31. NewsBin Pro is intended to retrieve files, such as photos, movies and programs, from usenet. These files can be downloaded in individual packets from one or more news servers and reassembled at the receiving end. Since version 6.00, the interface uses tabs and there is a cache-to-memory option that, if a machine has enough memory, reduces constant access to the hard drive. Changes have been made to RC4 that allow the program to better handle single par files.

Version 6.31 Release Candidate 4 Build 1853:

  • Made changes to better handle standalone PAR files that are not grouped with RAR sets.

Issues:

  • New Record count in Groups tab does not get reset if you purge headers for the group. Resets the next time you load the group.
  • Drag and Drop to order the Groups list in the Groups tab is not hooked up, nor can you column sort the groups.
  • There have been reports that Newsbin isn’t saving the correctly renamed files to descript.ion file.
  • Newsbin renames the file on disk and then lands the file. Without re-writing the description.ion, there’s no way to fix this.
  • Decreasing number of server connections requires a restart.
  • Works on Windows XP and newer.
  • Crosspost filters in the Add Groups dialog are not hooked up.
  • SMTP Authentication for email notification is not hooked up.
  • Version 6 Notes on using this version are being compiled in the Help Wiki
