Download NewsBin Pro 6.20 Build 1456 Beta 4

The fourth beta release of NewsBin Pro version 6.20 has been released, possibly the last before the release candidates start. NewsBin Pro is intended to retrieve files such as photos, movies and programs from usenet. These files can be downloaded in individual packets from one or more news servers and reassembled at the receiving end. Since version 6.00, the interface uses tabs and there is a cache-to-memory option that, if a machine has plenty of memory, reduces constant access to the hard drive. New in version 6.20 include a spam filter and the ability to set network throughput rates per hour and per day. Furthermore, proxy support has been improved, memory consumption has been reduced and the reliability of downloading and processing rar files has been improved. Since beta 2, the following changes have been made:

Version 6.20 Beta 4 Build 1456:

• Changes to bandwidth limiter to make it more reliable across systems. Seemed to work for some but not others.
• New and more reliable ID3 parser
• Disabled the PAR unpauser – works like 6.11 again. It was too aggressive for some people.
• Fixed issue introduced in B3 whwere it would not save ‘Filename Options/MP3 Tag Usage’ settings.
• Hitting Enter now sends wish list items to the download list
• Hooked up the right and left arrows in the Download tab and Wish List to toggle expansion, like in the Post lists.
• Fixed issue with Database Compaction utility.

Version 6.20 Beta 3 Build 1447:

• Fixed Duplicate Detection
• All Confirmation Windows now default to on. If you don’t want some of them, you can turn them off under Options/Confirmation Windows.
