Download NewsBin Pro 6.01 Build 1179 Beta 3

DJI Interprises has released the third beta release of NewsBin Pro version 6.01 and appears to have skipped beta 2. NewsBin Pro is intended to retrieve files such as photos, movies and programs from usenet. These files can be downloaded in individual packets from one or more news servers and reassembled at the receiving end. Since version 6.00, the user interface uses tabs and there is a cache to memory option that, if a machine has plenty of memory, reduces constant access to the hard drive. Version 6.01 mainly contains bug fixes and minor improvements. The changelog for beta 3 looks like this:

Changes in version 6.01 Beta 3 Build 1179:

• Defaults to 0 buffer sizes meaning “let windows deal with it”. Addresses issue some people are reporting about speed limiter not working correctly
• Changes to Internet Search tab to get it to default to “Subject”. It was getting into a state where it defaulted
• to searching on “From” (or Poster) on a clean install or after the GUI was reset by deleting the workspace.xml file.
• Internal changes to address a race condition report.
• Added more status information in the status column of the Download list
• Made changes to prevent bad PARs from setting unexpected status in the status column
• Created mode to instantly assemble files that have more than one par listed instead of based on age.
• Fixed issue where the low disk space threshold was kicking early, with 2 megs free. Sped up the checking to every 30 seconds and defaulting to 100 megs now.
• Fixed issue where initial size range was often showing a bogus percentage when it gets displayed for an unrar.
• Fixed issue where a retry can mess up the ranges when autopar is working on a set. Locked out download processing for the item that Autopar is currently working on.
• Newsbin was scanning the spool_v6 folder too often – changed to 10 seconds
• Made changes to make sure parless unrar ignores QPMS and MS files.
• Fixed a problem with rar file name damaging other rars. Now UnRARs to a temp folder and then moves the file back.
• RARS with no pars will now attempt to unrar when the last rar has downloaded.
• Updates to the TCP interface. Added Download List interface among other things.
• When applying filters, return the new count. Add the ability to disable filters, hide old, and text filter
• Return the file counts. RAR/PAR
• Added an indicator of how many outstanding RV4’s need to be processed when in background mode. Shows up next to the cache indicator in the Status bar.
• Removed the alternating shading on download list, added size shading.
• Changed expansion arrows to plus/minus icons.
• When background mode is in use, the RV4 importer now scans the data folder looking for RV4’s to import when it starts
• Removed the source of the “Unable to Insert Subject” messages and made the real messages “Debug”
• File mode has a smarter assembler to support the new French posting software and uses memory buffering to buffer each section of the file up to the memory threshold.
• Fixed issue where the wrong PAR could be processed. It could happen if a PAR file is downloaded to a folder and then later re-downloaded or a different PAR for the set is downloaded.
• Fixed issue where single files were not always getting deleted from the download list
• Added the ability to assign a filter profile to NZB processing. Option is under Options/NZB Files
• When repairing or unraring, it now shows what it’s doing in text in the percent completed line.
• Fix for single files not always getting removed from the download list
• If the .nbi configuration file is missing, Newsbin will offer to restore one from the backup.
• TCP Interface can now bind to port 0.0.0.0 to allow access from outside your machine.
• Fixed issue doing read post body for posts that blank lines at the beginning.
• Fixed issue with NZB downloads not honoring one of the folder modes.
• Added a GUI for setting the RAR filter.
• New filtering support for loading NZBs.
• Fix for filter window not updating the tab counts
