Download NewsBin Pro 6.00 build 943 beta 13

The development of NewsBin Pro version 6.00 has already arrived at the thirteenth beta release. This program is intended to retrieve files such as photos, movies and programs from usenet. These files can be downloaded in individual packets from one or more news servers and reassembled at the receiving end. In version 6.0, among other things, the user interface has been overhauled; it now uses tabs. There is also a Cache to Memory option which, if a machine has ample memory, reduces constant access to the hard drive. However, on machines with fewer resources, this can be turned off better. • Ctrl-V now works in the Filename field of the “Download To New Folder” dialog.
• Ctrl-C now works in the Subject field of the “Post Properties” dialog.
• Fixed issue reading NZB files created by Newsbin Version 4.x.
• Hooked up SSL zlib compression again. Might make search results download faster.
• Search in Groups dropdown now allows longer group names to be entered manually.

Upgrade NOTES:

You will want to say “Yes” to the option to “Reset Version 6 GUI?” from the installer (delete workspace.xml) with this one.

Version 6 has a new storage format for headers. You have to manually invoke the conversion if you want to bring your 5.5x headers into V6. A new spool folder, SPOOL_V6 will be created for storing headers. To invoke the conversion, select a group or a bunch of groups in the Groups tab, right-click and select Post Storage, then choose “Import Version 5.XX Headers”. A progress screen will pop up and you’ll have to wait for it to finish before continuing.
