Nessus is a security scanner that can network scan on known exploits and open services. Results can then be displayed in various reports to be displayed. The software can also integrate with other packages, such as CyberArk for credential management and MDM software from Microsoft, Apple, Good, MobileIron, and AirWatch. Nessus comes in four different flavors, namely the free-to-use Home edition, and the paid Professional, Manager, and Cloud editions. Tenable released Nessus 6.5.3 . a few days ago released with the following announcement:

Nessus 6.5.3 is now available at and/or on the Tenable Support Portal.

Nessus 6.5.3 Agents are now available at and/or on the Tenable Support Portal.

Bug Fixes

• SecurityCenter attempts to manage Nessus Manager instances connected for agent scans imports
• DNS resolution may fail on OS X due to inadequate timeouts
• Attempts to allocate large blocks of memory can cause the nessusd daemon to terminate
• Unable to enable SSL for IBM Tivoli connections
