The developers of Nagios have released a new development release in the form of version 3.1.0. The new version can be found by clicking this link be downloaded as tarball. With the help of Nagios, various parts of a (home) network can be monitored. In short, the program is a so-called network monitor. For example, it is possible to consult network services (smtp, pop3 and http) and statistics of resources (processor usage, hard disk space and temperatures). Nagios 3.1.0 has just been released as a development/testing snapshot of the Nagios 3.x code. It fixes a number of reported bugs that are present in 3.0.6 and includes a new feature that will check for new releases of Nagios. Once the 3.1.x release branch is tested enough to be considered stable, a stable 3.2.0 release will be made. Read the changelog, download Nagios 3.1.0 and give it a try.

  • Fix for bug in handling of hard host and service problem states during restarts that could incorrectly set current check attempt and adversely affect notifications, etc.
  • Fix for bug in timeperiod calculation of year/month rollovers and display of fixed calendar dates in web interface
