Florian Heidenreich has released version 2.79 of Mp3tag. With this program, the meta tags of the most common music formats can be modified. Support is provided for ID3v1, ID3v2.3, ID3v2.4, mp4, wma, Vorbis comments and Ape tags. Furthermore, the file names can be modified on the basis of those tags and playlists can be generated. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

Change:

• Wine-based Mp3tag.app is now signed using a verified Developer Certificate as required by macOS Sierra.

Fixed:

• Wine’s long path prefix \\?\ was not handled correctly.
• Displaying tooltips for very long texts in Tag Panel input fields blocked UI.
• Converter ‘Tag – Filename’ had problems with relative paths (since 2.78a).
• Converter ‘Tag – Filename’ produced in some cases file names which started with one backslash.
• Preview for converter ‘Tag – Filename’ displayed wrong file names in some rare cases.
• Information for 32-bit WAV was not displayed.
• Changing the Filter was possible even if files were currently loading.
