Florian Heidenreich has released version 2.58 of Mp3tag. With this program, the meta tags of the most common music formats can be modified. Support is available for ID3v1, ID3v2.3, ID3v2.4, iTunes Mp5, wma, Vorbis comments and Ape tags. Furthermore, the file names can be modified on the basis of those tags and playlists can be generated. The changelog of this release shows the following changes and improvements:

New:

• Added support for setting cover description for multiple different covers at once.

Changed:

• Improved parsing performance when reading MP4 files. Reverted change: ID3v2.3 TYER/TDAT now merged into one YEAR field formatted as YYYY-MM-DD (due to popular request).

Fixed:

• Occasionally skipped last value for multi-value ID3v2 text fields.
• Added workaround for broken MP4 implementations that are writing empty cnID atoms.
• Added workaround for broken MP4 implementations that are writing invalid atom sizes.

Languages:

• Updated Czech, Finnish, Hebrew, and Spanish translations.
