Download Mozilla Thunderbird 3.0 RC2

Tuesday the second release candidate of Mozilla Thunderbird version 3.0 was released. Mozilla Thunderbird is an open source and cross platform mail and newsgroup client with features such as support for multiple mail and news accounts, a junk mail filter, a spell checker and a customizable appearance. In version 3.0, a large number of changes have been made, including to the autoconfiguration module. Furthermore, Thunderbird now uses tabs, messages can be grouped as conversation and the search functionality has been greatly improved. More information about the changes in version 3.0 can be found in the release notes are being found. The following four issues have been fixed in this second release candidate:

• 494014 Shutdown hang, high cpu, no open imap connections
• 516950 “Download new messages automatically” should be checked/activated/enabled by default (at least for POP3 accounts!)
• 531278 Theme is labeled as version 2.0
• 531502 “Download More Dictionaries” fails to open webpage correctly
