Download Mozilla SeaMonkey 2.6 Beta 1
The Mozilla Foundation has provided SeaMonkey with a first beta of the upcoming 2.6 release. SeaMonkey is the continuation of the former Mozilla Application Suite and consists of a web browser and programs for e-mailing and reading news. There is also a simple HTML editor available. Unlike the Mozilla Application Suite, SeaMonkey is community maintained, with the SeaMonkey Council overseeing maintenance. The corresponding announcement looks like this:
What’s New in SeaMonkey 2.6 Beta 1
SeaMonkey 2.6 Beta 1 contains the following major changes relative to SeaMonkey 2.5:
SeaMonkey specific changes
- Added Print Preview support to Composer
- Added update channel indication to About SeaMonkey page (about:)
Mozilla platform changes
- Added Type Inference, significantly improving JavaScript performance
- Added support for querying Do Not Track status via JavaScript
- Added support for font-stretch
- Improved support for text overflow
- Improved standards support for HTML5, MathML, and CSS
- Fixed several stability issues
