Download Mozilla Lightning 1.0

Earlier this week, version 1.0 of the Mozilla calendar extension Lightning was released. The software is also available as a standalone program under the name Sunbird, but the latest version is currently available 1.0 beta 1 and, moreover, its development seems to have ceased. Mozilla Lightning is compatible with version 8.0 of Thunderbird and 2.5 of SeaMonkey. SeaMonkey users should also stick with beta 1, as support for that program is completely absent in this release. The most important bug fixes in this release are:

• Full offline support, when the “Cache” is enabled for a calendar
• Improve diagnostics for the ICS provider
• Fix the top startup crash. Please give Lightning another try if you previously had issues
• Some fixes for the alarm system, specifically related to snoozing and recurring events
• Allow opening events already accepted via invitation
• Fresh new UI style for all calendar views
