Monday is Firefox version 3.6.2 appeared. This release fixes a number of security issues, including a serious vulnerability that allowed remote code execution. As a result of this leak, the German government advised against using Firefox. Firefox version 3.6.2, like 3.6, is based on Gecko version 1.9.2, which has been in development since early 2009. New in Mozilla Firefox 3.6 was the ability to customize the browser’s appearance, which is referred to as Mozilla Personas. Furthermore, old and insecure plug-ins could be blocked, Theora videos could be viewed full-screen and performance was improved. Below are the release notes for version 3.6.2:

Firefox 3.6.2 fixes the following issues found in previous versions of Firefox 3.6:
- Fixed a critical security issue that could potentially allow remote code execution (see bug 552216).
- Fixed several additional security issues.
- Fixed several stability issues.
