The developers behind Mono, an open source implementation of the .Net Framework, have been working on Moonlight since 2007: an open source implementation of Microsoft’s silver light for Linux. It is available as a plugin for Mozilla Firefox in both 32bit and 64bit versions. Mono has released the fourth preview of Moonlight 2.0 with the following list of changes:

Preview 4:

• tons of bugs fixed
• Sockets are now working and follow Silverlight cross-domain policies rules. see sample chat application.
• TextBlock and TextBox now both support algorithmic italics and boldness.
