Windows Live Messenger allows users to chat and exchange files with each other. It is also possible to see each other via the webcam – called ‘camming’ in the jargon – and to call each other via the ingrained Voice-over-IP software. On the blog, the developers of Windows Live Messenger have released the first beta of the 8.5 branch announced. The beta has been given version numbering 8.5.1235.0517 and can be downloaded for Windows XP and Windows Vista by clicking on this link. A few days ago, the exact same version appeared on a Spanish site, but at the time it was still marked as an internal beta. So it seems that Microsoft has decided to make the leaked version available itself. The main changes in Windows Live Messenger 8.5 beta are minor tweaks and updates to the graphical interface.
