Download MediaPortal 1.1.3

MediaPortal has been updated to version 1.1.3. With this program, a Windows machine can be used as the heart of the multimedia hardware in the living room. This makes it easy to listen to radio and music, as well as watch videos and DVDs. TV programs can also be recorded. By means of plug-ins and extensions, the functionality can be expanded and the look & feel of the program can be adjusted. Version 1.1 completely says goodbye to the old TV engine TVE2. Furthermore, a clean installation now uses MySQL 5.1 instead of SQL Server, although the latter can still be used as usual. This was done because MySQL requires less resources and also works fine under Windows 7. Version 1.1.3 is only necessary for Windows 7 users, as it adds support for Service Pack 1.

MediaPortal 1.1.3 hotfix for W7 SP1 released

This week Microsoft released the Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 32bit and 64bit.

Besides many security fixes, and changes which are provided by Windows Update allready, it also includes many fixes which were not available through Windows Update, such as an fix for an issue with audiodevices connected by HDMI.

Team MediaPortal recommends the installation of Windows 7 Service Pack 1 on your HTPC.

For MediaPortal 1 this means that we have to release a very small hotfix, because with MediaPortal 1.1.2 and earlier versions, you will encounter a warning that you run MediaPortal on an not supported Operating System, as soon as you install the Service Pack 1 for Windows 7.

If you are not using Windows 7, then an upgrade to MediaPortal 1.1.3 is not required.
