MediaCoder is able to transcode various media files to other formats out-of-the-box. Converting these files can be done on-the-fly or sequentially in a batch. Also, the program can convert movies for use on mobile media players, especially for the PlayStation Portable. Version 0.3.9 build 1858 has recently appeared on the MediaCoder site.
