Download Media Player Classic – Home Cinema 1.8.5

In July 2017, version 1.7.13 of Media Player Classic – Home Cinema was released and the developers indicated that they will continue no more new versions were going to bring out. However, the source code is open source, and a developer known as clsid at the Doom9 website and who was himself involved with mpc-hc for a long time now occasionally releases new “unofficial” versions. These only contain minor improvements and the latest version of the LAV Filters and MediaInfo is always included. The changelog for version 1.8.5 can be found below.

• Updated LAV Filters to v0.74

Changes/additions/improvements:

• Option to specify command line parameters to use when downloading with youtube-dl (File > Save a Copy). Does not apply to streaming.
• CoverArt improvements. Prefer image with same filename. Reduced chance of false positive matches.
• Increased max Pan&Scan zoom factor to 5x.

Fixes:

• Crash into null renderer. Also support more media types.
• Ellipsis character was trimmed off from beginning or end of subtitles.
• Ignore auto-zoom setting when remember window size is enabled.
• Remember correct playlist position on a non-primary screen from extended Desktop.
• Don’t use YDL when an URL points to a file.
