After more than three months of silence, a new version of McAfee Stinger has suddenly been released. The jump in version number is also remarkable. For reasons that are unclear, this has gone from 3.4.9 to 3.8.0. McAfee Stinger is a small virus scanner. It is not a total antivirus solution, but intended for cleaning an infected Windows PC. It recognizes only 191 of the most common viruses, worms, and trojans, including all their variants. The changelog of this release shows the following change:
