Although at Maxthon they are hard at work developing version 2.0, it shows that the 1.x branch is not abandoned yet, as version 1.5.9 build 80 was released the day before yesterday. Maxthon is a so-called ‘wrapper’, a shell around Internet Explorer. It uses IE’s engine to build the pages, but has its own interface with all kinds of extra functionality, such as tabbed browsing, mouse gestures (using the mouse to control the program in a convenient way) , and has a popup and ad blocker.
