Max is a new application for the Mac OS X platform and is capable of converting a music CD into audio files in MP3 format. It uses the LAME encoder to compress the music and can fill in the artist and titles for you with the help of FreeDB. The developer has released version 0.2 with the following changes:

Known issue:

• iTunes still displays numbers instead of strings for genres (due to mishandling of ID3v2.4 tags)
