Malwarebytes has now released the final Anti-Malware version 2.2.0 after several beta releases. This program is aimed at fighting spy, ad and malware. Especially on the removal of malicious software that pretends to be a bona fide antivirus or antispyware solution, but in reality has less good intentions, such as ransom– or scareware. In addition to the free version, there is a paid variant, which offers additional functionality, including real-time protection.

Version 2.2.0, among other things, added full support for Windows 10 and steps were taken to prevent files from being mistakenly marked as malicious, the so-called false positives. In addition, quarantined items can be sorted and several issues have been fixed.

• Fixed several issues related to updating databases in a limited user account
• Fixed issue where USB drives would not show as available for scanning on the Custom Scan Configuration screen

• Fixed problem where double-clicking the tray icon would not launch the user interface
