Download Linux Kernel 2.5.58

Spread the love

Through Linux Today Linus Torvalds brings us the happy news that another new Linux kernel in the 2.5 development line has been released; 2.5.58. Linus is, as he puts it, trying to release small updates regularly instead of the occasional big one. However, this is not reflected in the changelog that can still fill quite a few screens.

The 2.5.58 stuff is largely a merge of a lot of smaller stuff (tons of trivial patches, for example), with some bigger things: a parisc update, IPMI driver, USB updates, sysfs updates, and RPCSEC_GSS support.[break]Keep in mind that the 2.5 series kernels have not been declared stable, if you want a stable kernel you should look for a 2.4.x version number. The patch for version 2.5.58 is here to get. You can download the full kernel here to download.
