Download KCheckGmail 0.5.3a
There are many applications that can indicate whether new e-mail has arrived on a Gmail account, but most of them only work under Windows. However, on KDE apps there is an application called KCheckGmail and it runs on Linux and requires at least KDE 3.2. As with the Windows variants, this program resides in the system tray and tells you how many messages are in your Gmail account. Recently KCheckGmail got to version 0.5.3a the changelog of the last few versions looks like this:
