Christofer Persson has upgraded his media player Kantaris Media Player to version 0.2.3. The new version is available from this server be downloaded for Windows. Kantaris Media Player is a media player for Windows and is based on the open source code of VLC Media Player and Bass audio library. This allows the program to handle almost all codecs, including avi, mpeg, h264, wma and ogg. What exactly has changed in Kantaris Media Player has not been disclosed. Persson does describe his media player as follows:

Kantaris is an all new media player based on code from Videolan client (VLC) and Bass audio library. Kantaris has a graphical user interface similar to that of Windows Media Player.

Kantaris can play almost anything you can throw at it — AVI, MPEG, MGEG-AVC, WMV, MOV, MKV, quicktime, matroska, divx, xvid, H264, MP3, WMA, OGG files and more. Kantaris can also play DVDs and audio CDs. The player also displays some of the most beautiful music visualizations ever seen.[break]
